Traditional way to lessen your fever is to put cold-damp wash clothes on your forehead, stomach and at the back of your neck.  Little did we know that PEANUT BUTTER can help lessen fever.

This is my old family remedy for fever.  I was hesitant to use this kind of remedy because it's a bit filthy and nasty to use
but when I got sick and I am not allowed to take paracetamol or any medicine because of my allergy, my mother insisted to follow the old way.

My mother bought a peanut butter in Bankerohan Market for only PHp150/kilo.

Milk (Bear Brand SWAK)mix it with cold water.  *DO NOT DRINK*.

Paper Towel or Tissue

and a Cloth Towel.


She put the Peanut Butter on a spacious container and pour half of it.


You need to do is to smear all the peanut butter over your forehead and neck.  If you have a long hair better put it up with an elastic/rubber band.

Second you must do is to soak the paper towel/tissue with the milk.


Then lie down put cloth towel under your head and place the paper towel all over your face. Close your eyes and just breathe in the smell of the milk, lie down until the milk dries and your fever stops.  Then wash your face,
neck and hair.

This may sound crazy but my mom did this to me and I have done this to my children and it works great!  Hope it will help you too.

I have tried SOUTH BEACH DIET , a salad dressing with no fat and no calories.  It works for me but problem is I always suffered a mild headache.  I don't know what causes me to encounter such headache, so I stop before it becomes a BIG PROBLEM.

IMPORTANT:
  1. Drink 6 or more glasses of water daily.
  2. Use a salt substitute.
  3. Take a multi-vitamin daily.

  6. Vegetables boiled & drained – without butter – vinegar or lemon juice may be used.
  7. Salads without dressing – vinegar, lemon juice or artificial sweetener may be added to taste.
  8. All meats and fish boiled or broiled – lean meat only (beef, veal, lamb, fowl and fish). Eat your normal portion.
  9. NO PORK OR SHELL FISH
  10. When broiling meats or fish – pat dry with paper towel after broiling.
  11. No eating between meals. Try to eat meals at the same time each day.
  12. NO, DO NOT SKIP ANY MEAL!
  13. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OF ANY KIND... SORRY!
  14. Where eggs are indicated. 1 egg –small framed women, 2 eggs – medium to large framed women.


1st WEEK:
EVERY DAY BREAKFAST:½ Grapefruit, 1 or 2 boiled or poached eggs, coffee or tea.
(ALL EGGS IN DIET EITHER BOILED OR POACHED)
MONDAY:- Lunch:Same as breakfast.
- Dinner:Lean meat or fish, lettuce salad, 1 slice dry toast, ½ grapefruit, coffee or tea.
TUESDAY:- Lunch:Same as breakfast.
- Dinner:Lean meat or fish, lettuce & tomato salad, ½ grapefruit, coffee or tea.
WEDNESDAY:- Lunch:1 or 2 eggs, spinach, ½ grapefruit, coffee or tea.

THURSDAY:- Lunch:1 or 2 eggs, ½ cup carrots, ½ grapefruit, coffee or tea.

FRIDAY:- Lunch:1 or 2 eggs, cabbage, ½ grapefruit, coffee or tea.
- Dinner:Broiled fish (NO BREADING), lettuce, tomato & carrot salad, ½ grapefruit, coffee or tea.
SATURDAY:- Lunch:FRESH fruit salad (NOT CANNED) EAT ALL YOU WANT!
- Dinner:Lean meat or fish, lettuce & tomato, ½ grapefruit, coffee or tea.
SUNDAY:- Lunch:Diced chicken (NO SKIN) with chopped celery and green pepper, lemon juice or vinegar, ½ grapefruit, coffee or tea.
- Dinner:Broiled chicken (NO SKIN), lettuce salad, ½ grapefruit, coffee or tea.

SUBSTITUTIONS:The following may be substituted for "2 eggs" anywhere in the diet.
Choose only ONE when you substitute:
3 oz. lean beef, ½ cup salmon (water packed)
2 Frankfurters, 8 oz. Sardines (well drained and pat dry with paper towel)
1 small can tuna (water packed)
½ cup cottage cheese (Light n' Lively preferred)
During 2nd
week ONLY

Early this morning while listening to AM RADIO STATION,  two commentators are having this discussion about VINEGAR for hair.  Is Vinegar good for our hair?

We know there is 1001+ uses of vinegar aside from being used as food condiments and as a kitchen essentials.  Vinegar is also used for our beauty care especially for our hair.

Hearing VINEGAR+DOWNY(cloth conditioner) mix together can make your hair shiny or can restore shine, according to their guest this is used by Salon or Beauty Parlors for treatments and neutralizer.

I did my research about this mixture and I can say that vinegar has an enzyme that helps connect protein molecules and a source of probiotics that help restore luster of our hair by removing the other products that we usually apply in our hair.  And mix with a small amount of DOWNY (cloth conditioner) that also makes our hair soft and smells good.

To make it more convincing, I'd made one to try if this is true.  I get an empty alcohol sprayer, put 1 cup of vinegar, 2 cups of warm water, a drop of essential oil(optional) and mix it with a small amount of downy.  I keep the extra mixture to another container for my next use.




I'd spray it to my hair.

Vinegar has long been used to make hair healthy, silky and lustrous shiny and I agree to that.  And it doesn't leave your hair smell of vinegar because of the downy.  Depending on your hair type, mine I will use it once weekly because I have straight and not so thick hair.  And for those who have curly, wavy, and a bit thick hair you should use it three times a week.  It may cause minimal hair dryness so better condition your hair first before spraying the vinegar rinse.

Hope this would help you with your hair problems.  I am sure going to hair salon will cost you big amount of money just to make your hair shiny and soft.

By the way you can use this also for your scalp and fight dandruff:

*1/2 cup vinegar mixed with 2 cups of water after shampooing. You can add few drops of baby oil.  Leave the rinse for about 30 mins. Then rinse it with water.  You can do this everyday or at least once a week.
