Smart Shoe Shopper

To find the best fit for your shoes you must buy it in the afternoon or evening, since that day your feet are bigger(they swell during the day).

When you want to get the right size of your shoes have it measure by standing up, because your feet expand under the weight of your body.

The shape of your shoes matters as well.  How does the shoe conforms to your feet?  You have to put room in front of your toes, at least 3/8" to 1/2" between the longest toe and the front of your shoe when your standing.  And also at the back of your toes to prevent the shoe from rubbing against that cause corns and calluses.

Well some of us have different sizes of feet, some are not similar in sizes.  If your feet are like that you must choose shoes that fit the bigger foot.  And just put additional support pad for the other foot.  Be aware that if you buy shoes do not buy that are too stiff or too tight to wear shoes, your feet will suffer for that.

Be patient and responsible shoe shopper.  Do not depend on how the shoe looks like,or the famous brand the shoe manufactured. Give focus to your feet. It is not bad to be fashionable and sophisticated.

5 Ways to Make Your Manicure and Pedicure Last

We always talk about skin and hair care.  How about our nails?

Our nails are very important to our general well-being.  Right girls?  It reflects our personality and it reveals our health too. So you have to see to it that your nails are healthy looking groomed nail.

Going to a salon is quite expensive to have a manicure and pedicure.   And sometimes you are not satisfied with the result because the nail polish use can easily crack or remove just in a minute.

So here are some tips I learned on how to make manicure and pedicure last.



  • CLEAN THE SURFACE.

Using Nail Polish Remover clean nails with a cotton swab.  Clean nails allow polish to adhere better and make application more even.

The one usually use in the parlor to remove residue is PURE ACETONE.  But if you see that it makes your nails dry, STOP USING THIS KIND OF ACETONE.  Use a nail remover without hydrators like LANOLIN.

  • PICK THE RIGHT BASE.

As far as I can remember I started using this when I am still working at Watsons Inc., SM Davao City.  I was amazed with this product because even if the price is quite expensive it really gives CUSTOMERS SATISFACTION.

After applying your favorite nail polish, just wait for a minute before applying one coat of INSTA-DRI ANTI-CHIP Top Coat.  And in 30 seconds it will dry quickly.  This will last 10 days and more.

  • OIL DAILY.

This was given to me by a friend and this is very nice after you have your manicure and pedicure done.  Before going to bed I put this on my nails to prevent from breaking and chipping.

  • STAND UP STRAIGHT, WITH HEELS TOGETHER AND TOES POINTED SLIGHTLY OUTWARD.
  • RISE UP FROM YOUR TOES AND PULL YOUR BELLY BUTTON IN AND UP, KEEPING YOUR BACK STRAIGHT.
  • TRY NOT TO LEAN FORWARD.  HOLD ON FOR ONE COUNT, THEN SLOWLY PLACE YOUR HEELS BACK ON THE GROUND.
  • DO THIS 10 TIMES. OR AS LONG AS YOU'RE STUCK STANDING AROUND.

USES OF MAYO for BEAUTY

In my other blog I shared with you about the USES OF MAYO for HOME. Here I am going to share with you the USES of MAYO for BEAUTY.

MAYO AS A CONDITIONER.  We all know that we girls are fond of making our hair looks good and if we touch it, we like it as soft as possible no tangles at all.  Here is the secret way to have that kind of a hair.

  1. Hold the mayo and massage it to your hair and scalp.  Cover your head with shower cap, wait several minutes, and shampoo.
  2. The mayonnaise will moisturize your hair and give it lustrous sheen.


GET YOURSELF A MAYO FACIAL. Why waste money on an expensive creams, when you can treat yourself to a soothing facial with whole-egg mayonnaise from your own refrigerator.

  1. Gently spread the mayonnaise over your face and leave it on for 20 minutes.
  2. Then wipe it off and and rinse with cool water.
  3. Your face will feel clean and smooth.


STRENGTHEN YOUR FINGERNAILS.   To add some oomph to your fingernails, just plunge them into a bowl of mayonnaise every so often.  Keep them bathed in the mayo for about 5 minutes and then wash with warm water.

RELIEVE SUNBURN PAIN. To treat dry sunburn skin, slather mayonnaise liberally over the affected are.  Mayo will relieve the pain and moisturize the skin at the same time.

REMOVE DEAD SKIN.  Soften and remove dead skin from elbows and feet.  Rub mayonnaise over the dry, rough tissue, leave it on for 10 minutes, and wipe it away with a damp cloth.

MAYO FOR HEAD LICE.  This is the safest way to kill head lice, as many dermatologists now recommend using mayo to kill and remove head lice from kids.  Toxic prescription drugs and over-the-counter preparations, lice are becoming more resistant to such chemical treatments.  I used this with my two kids and it's really effective.

  1. First massage a liberal amount of mayo into the hair and scalp before bedtime.
  2. Cover with shower cap to maximize the effect.
  3. Shampoo in the morning and then use a fine-tooth comb to remove any remaining lice and nits.
  4. To completely eradicate the infestation, repeat this treatment in 7-10 days.

FACE YOGA: WRINKLES OUT!

The new craze for losing wrinkles.  Have you tried it?  Well if not I will share to you on how to do FACIAL YOGA from Annelise Hagen.

All you need is a MIRROR and YOU.  Then follow this instructions below.



THE SPHINX SMILE: Get rid of your smile lines

Smile by lifting the corners of your mouth up and across.  

But keep your eyes neutral.  

Repeat this 3 or 4 times.










THE SATCHMO: Make your cheeks firm

Puff up both both cheeks with air, then transfer the air from check to check.

Alternate from side to side until you're out of breath.

Repeat three times.







MARILYN: Make your lips strong and fuller

Keep your brow smooth and blow kisses.  Repeat four times.

Then press lips to your first two fingers.  Repeat three or four times.










SURPRISE ME: Smooths your wrinkled brow

Widen your eyes without wrinkling your brow, then focus on a point on the horizon for five to ten seconds.

Repeat four times.











SMILING FISH FACE: Firm and tone your cheeks and lips

Smile while slightly pursing your lips.

Withdraw and pinch your cheeks into a hollows of your face as you do so.

Repeat five times.









PUPPET FACE: It will help lift lines between your nose and lips

Smile and press your finger tips into the crease between lips and nose.

Lift muscles up and press fingertips on the area for resistance.

Repeat 20-30 times.







LION FACE: Stretches facial muscles and releases tensions

Inhale through nose and make fists and squeeze face muscles.

Exhale through mouth, stick out tongue, roll eyes and open hands.

Repeat three times.






BUMBLEBEES: Works cheeks, lips and jaw

Inhale through nose and make a chewing sound.

Vibrate the sound "mmmm" through nose as you exhale and chew.

Repeat for four breaths.










BABY BIRD: Firms jaw, neck and shoulder muscles

Tilt head back.

Swallow and press your tongue to the roof of your mouth.

Tilt head to left and swallow, then to the right.

Repeat four times each.






There's no set of routine to face yoga as long as you can do 10 minutes a day and you can set target on a specific area on your face.

And also have proper 8 hours sleep, drink 8 glasses of water a day and good food diet.

Try this for you to feel the facial rejuvenation. You may act like a fool here but mind you, you will see the difference after 2-3 months.

I ALWAYS HAVE A FOOT CRAMP

I'm in my 30's now and I am bothered from foot cramps.   Prolonged sitting down is the major cause for this, well that is my own observation.  

Sitting down from 10am-10pm managing and watching my clients here inside my shop.  Though I also walk for awhile to eat and drink water but much of my time I sit down fronting my best friend...THE VIRTUAL WORLD. (Still need advice from the expert)

In my 20's I usually wear high heels and I never experience this kind of a cramp.


Before it happened for a quite a while, it was occasionally but now it's more frequent.  I ask my mom about it and seemed to think it is a potassium deficiency and told me to take my VITAL-C and Multi-Vitamins everyday.  I have been doing that for a few months and it doesn't seem to help me that much.

I search on the internet to look for solution, it is not good and not healthy anymore.  Maybe there is a remedy for this, and it will help me solve my problem.  

What did I found?  According to MedicineNet.com it is estimated that 95% of people suffered from muscle cramp at some time in their life!  

Oh! so meaning this is just normal and nothing to worry about?  Really?  So is there something that can give remedy for this?  They give me RECIPE????  Hey?!  I am asking here remedy, I am not here to cook.

RECIPE:

  1. LUKEWARM WATER
  2. BIG BASIN(FOOT SPA)
  3. SALT

PROCEDURE:


  1. Put the lukewarm water unto the basin and put salt.
  2. Place your feet inside the basin for 15minutes.  
  3. Then pat dry.
  4. Do this twice or trice a week until you feel much better.


See I am not here to cook food for you.  This is just an example of HOME REMEDY/SOLUTION for FOOT CRAMPS that most of the experts give to their patients.


But going to a doctor is more important because as I read about FOOT CRAMPS it also depends on your HEALTH.

HONEY for my CANKER SORE

I cannot eat properly I am having a canker sore for 5 days now and it is a big problem to me.


Canker sores are reddish, painful and shallow lesions that develop in the mouth. They are also referred to as mouth ulcers. The common areas for the occurrence of canker sores are inside of lips, back of tongue, base of the gums and inside of the cheeks. At times, the lesions are covered with a whitish surface.

Canker sores are NOT contagious.  Sores that last 3 weeks or longer.  


The cause of canker sores is not clear, but may be related to:
  • A weakness in your immune system (for example, from the cold or flu)
  • Hormone changes
  • Stress
  • Lack of certain vitamins and minerals in the diet, including vitamin B12 or folate

My mom advised me to put honey to my sore as a remedy. 


Usage of honey for treatment of canker sores has been followed for a long time. 


Apply honey over the sores 2-3 times daily by using a cotton swab, in order to combat pain.






Honey...yes honey from a bee! 


There are several easy remedies you can use at home to take care of and cure canker sores. However, it is important for you to know that if you have been suffering from canker sores for more than a month, it is wiser to get them checked out by a doctor. This is because you do not want to end up with complications that will worsen your situation. In order to cleanse your sores out of any infectious fluids, you can rinse out your mouth with a mix of equal parts of hydrogen peroxide and water. This will also sanitize your mouth. One of the easiest ways to get rid of canker sores is to put a teaspoon of honey and run it all around each and every corner and crevice of your mouth. Honey is an extremely soothing substance; especially for skin that has become sore. It also has healing properties that can actually help you out. Alternatively, you can also do the same thing with glycerin. The only thing is that you would have to spit the glycerin out after a point, whereas you swallow the honey. You can also make a paste of turmeric powder and rose water and apply this to any particular sore. This will help to heal it and will also provide cooling relief, which will be brought on by the rose water. You must also make it a point to have hot milk to which half a teaspoon of turmeric powder has been added every night. This will also help your body to heal from within. Milk cream in which a few strands of saffron have been soaked overnight can also be applied to your sore. This will help to heal it as well. Used and chilled tea bags are also considered to be particularly useful in taking care of canker sores.
While you are suffering from canker sores, there are some foods you must avoid. This is particularly important if you are suffering from open sores. You may irritate your sores and worsen your situation otherwise. Try not to have excessively hot fluids or food. Avoid spicy food and substances that are rich in caffeine. Try not to eat hard foods as well. Eat less salt, which will be of great help with any burning you may be experiencing. Try to eat more of ice creams and yogurt. The yogurt has live bacteria which will help to fight off your infection.

Last night I watched THE BOTTOMLINE by Boy Abunda.  Very interesting topic STEM CELL TECHNOLOGY: Vanity or Cure?

What used to be science fiction is now science fact, and stem cell technology is making it happen.  Imagine replacing a damaged or diseased heart with one that has been fashioned out of human tissue and custom-fitted according to specifications.


According to Dr. Samuel Bernal, head of the IPMM, said “stems cells are those cells that are the origin of all the other cells in the body” and “normally provide the repair mechanism of injury.”  Oh well, that is why others are using it for vanity to help rejuvenate their old cells and to have young and youthful skin.


“If your kidney got damaged, you can get stem cells to form kidney tissues,”


It is important, however, that these treatments which are fast evolving should have a firm scientific basis, in order to ensure safety and gives the most effective outcomes so that people will know, THE COMMON TAO well know that it is not purely for VANITY but to help CURE what is being damaged.


Our Government should do something about this because Stem cell technology is complex and requires specialized personnel and equipment and others are doing it just to gain money.  As I saw last night on the show even small SARI-SARI Store sells STEM CELL Products because we still don't have a law prohibiting them to do such act.


This new discovery we have now will ease the burden of people who are suffering from kidney and cancer victims.  Hope we will use it to cure and not for vanity.

However, there’s no need to be jealous, because you can create the illusion of a slimmer face with the right makeup application technique. By following the tips outlined below, you can effectively use makeup to thin out the appearance of your face.

Creating a shadow under your chin and jaw line can give the rest of your face definition and a slimmer appearance. Professional photographers commonly use a shadow to define certain facial features and to hide features that are not so appealing. Makeup works pretty much the same way in that if you have a double chin or an undefined jaw line, creating a shadow will make your double chin seem to disappear and your jaw line to look more prominent.
You may think that blush is only to be used on your cheeks, but you can also enhance your jaw line by creating a shadow with a light dusting of blush just below your jaw and underneath your chin. This technique, by itself, will make your face look thinner. It is important to note that you should blend the blush in well and not apply any blush to your neck area. Cream blush works much better than powder blush, but either will do the trick.
